• I've purchased a bike and a lot of accessories from the Bike Warehouse over the last three years and I've always found the staff friendly and helpful and willing to cut a good deal. Would recommend them to others.

• My wife viewed a boy's bike at £199.00. I agreed to go back and purchase it, even though I had seen it on the internet for £134.50. I asked if they could fit a quick release stalk and they said yes, but at £12.00 extra (£1.99 on the net). I suggested that they throw this in for free in order to gain a sale. The young man then persisted in telling me that there is no guarantee on the internet - obviously he hadn't heard of the distance selling act, and in any case, most reputable dealers on the net give 12-months - and making a big thing about it having to be assembled. Having bought one off the net before, I explained that it's dead easy, 'no it isn't' he said. What a fool, he could have easily thrown in the release stalk for free, made a potential customer very happy and still made a decent profit. I guess that the manager, had he been there, would not have been happy to let an easy sale slip out of the door.
