  • 2 star reviewOur senior citezens club made a reservation for 35 people in June for a buffet stopover on an outing to take place in October. We had been here twice before, well received both times but a change of management in January of this I believe. When we arrived in our coach, the car park was completely full. On entering the establishment we saw that the restaurant was full with a funeral party, we were directed, none to politely to a small side room that held about 20 and told that the rest of the party would have to find seats in the bar. This was definately not the welcome that we were expection. The manager was decidely off, but the one waitress available was helpful offering to hand around the plates of food which were on a small side table. she was clearly embaressed by the way that we were treated. The manager seemed to think that it was a huge joke. it is not as if we arrived on spec., we had made the reservation 4 months previously, long before the wake was booked I can confidently say. We will not be returning there.

  • 1 star reviewdont have the steak.i ordered a 10 oz rump it was 1/4 inch thin and overcooked.the chips were cooked from frozen and so hot inside must have been microwaved.i mentioned this to the waitress and she laughed and said people travel miles just for the chips.well let me tell the black boy you would be out of buisness where i live.

  • 1 star reviewWe walked in as a family of 6. We were not greeted or asked if we wanted a drink. We were seen, but ignored, we approached a member of staff after a while as we all stood there with our coats on waiting for someone to seat us at our booked table, and my nan of 86 was hungry. The staff are unprofessional, and very rude. For one instance when we received 6 slices of bread we politely asked if we could have another basket to be told. " I just gave you 6 slices" we had to ask 3 times. The staff were very rude all night long. I asked what chicken supreme was to be told "well its chicken supreme" lol. My food was overcooked, and some of my veg had previously been frozen. Terrible and very disappointing. service and food.

  • 5 star reviewVery good food, nicely presented. Cosy feel to the place, great for family meals and generous portions. There is certainly an accomplished chef behind the scenes. My only critique is the clown figurines dotted around, they're a bit odd.

  • 5 star reviewthe food was delicious, well cooked, well presented and plentiful. The ambience of the restaurant was just right, enough light to see the menue but not too bright to glare. the staff were very friendly and professional.

  • 1 star reviewI am amazed tat this pub has got good reviews - 4 of us went there last Saturday for lunch and it was terrible - I was told the fish was fresh ordered sea bass and got the smallest piece of overcooked fillet, vegetables which had been sitting in a warmer which were colourless and tastless. Having eaten the filet which was one mouthful I could eat nothing else as it was all so awful. My companions did not fare much better a medium rare steak was well done although the onion rings and chips were nice. Ob

  • 4 star reviewIt is a lovely restaurant, good staff, good food, but the vegetarian dishes I have always found to be too salty, some non veggie chefs seem to think we have to have it for taste....it doesn't it just smothers the real taste.
