  • 4 star reviewService has improved greatly. Ordered take away this evening. They did get the order wrong and have made immediate amends without fuss. The food 'including the wrong order' was very good - We may order the 'wrong order' again!! Delivery was within the time stated, food was hot and tasty. Could have done with a little more sauce for the Aromatic Duck.

  • 5 star reviewWe have been using Chinese Whispers for almost 3 years and have always enjoyed the food. We have tried lots of different ones in the area and have yet to find one better. Food is always fresh. Been to others that have greasy noodles, rice and soggy chicken balls but chinese whispers are great. Staff have always been friendly and on the one occasion something was missing from our order they replaced it promptly.

  • 1 star reviewBland!! This is by far the worst takeaway I've had. It was dry and taste less. The only good dish was the satay skewers. I will not be going back

  • 2 star reviewAs per other comments I used to always be able to guarantee a good meal from here. Recently not so much. The food is cooked freshly which is nice but the portions are now abysmal. When you pay around £4 for a meat dish thats what id expect. It just seems a stingy on the meat and plentiful amount of vegetables. I put it down once or twice to them just being rushed... but third time. No more whispers for us.

  • 1 star reviewI started to use Chinese Whispers when we moved to the area last year. I was so pleased with the food, that for me, it was the best chinese takeaway I have used. We were using the takeaway once a week but recently the food just hasn't been as good. Once home and unpacking my food, there was something missing from the order, this happened twice and they delivered the missing dishes. We ordered a bag of chips which were bagged up and put on top of the hot plate where they store their sauce so when we went to eat the chips they were hard and dry and we couldn't eat them. I always order duck (duck pancakes) which USED to be very good, but recently the duck has been so dry and hard that its un-edible, so much so that the last 5 times I have ordered from Chinese Whispers, I have been disappointed. The final straw was today.... the duck was so dry and so fatty, the sauce pot was half full and the cucumber and spring onion was dry, pale in colour, tasteless and nothing like it usually is. I took the sauce and cucuumber dish back, the staff were quite rude and obviously cannot take minor complaints. I was polite, I did not swear or shout, I tried to have a civilised conversation but the staff were not interested in what I had to say and cannot take criticsm. I showed them the cucumber and onion and they said it was fresh, but cucumber should not be bone dry and there was a hair in it as well which I showed them!! No apology, they just gave me another container of cucumber and onion and would not give me more sauce!!! When I got home, the duck was dry, over cooked/crispy that I just managed to make 3 pancake rolls. I just could not eat them! I never complain anout things but I was very upset with their negative attitude so I went back to the chinese for the second time, again I showed them the cucumber and the duck. The woman looked furious that I was trying to show her the unsatisfactory duck, but her reply was that is how it always is, she's been there 10 years and nothing has changed... well, there was NO apology, no offer to replace the duck, and certainly no offer of a refund. So, sadly, after 5 very disappointing takeaways in a row, I felt the need to share my review with those who wish to read the truth. The takeaway makes great tasting food.......just dDONT BUY THE DUCK!!!
