• David came to look at some problems with my house. He was so much more understanding than the other builders I called. He listened patiently to my house problems. Then he explained in a patient manner what was wrong and how he would approach solving the problems. When the work was completed he made sure I was happy with all that he had done. I was so happy I got him to build me a wet room, which I was delighted with. a real pleasure to deal with

• Don't know what Sarah G is talking about. She obviously hasn't got an idea of what a good builder is! Dave Kirby is the only builder I would trust to do any work in either my own home or my rental properties. He has done numerous jobs for me over the years from plastering to patios, plumbing to tiling, brick laying to painting and I have never had a cause to complain nor have my tenants ever complained. He has recently completed work for my mother and her tenants have sent me an email with nothing but praise for Dave regarding the standard of work, his tidiness, his politeness and how he just gets on with the job at hand. He always uses the best materials, and he is not expensive. He undertakes corrective work when other builders have mucked up as in the case of my mothers property and always finishes his work to a high standard. He cleans up after himself and always leaves the site clean and tidy. I have no hesitation in recommending him to anyone who needs a builder. He knows his job inside out and is always on hand to give advice when asked. A trustworthy, dependable man who always does an excellent job.

• Avoid like the plague. This guy uses shoddy material but charges the earth. Does a rubbish job and leaves a mess. He's also completely unsociable and is really hard to have around your home.
