• Had the Christmas menus meal on Friday last. Pretty grim...they do need to know how to make mackerel pate...so runny ..hard to distinguish it from the horseradish sauce. Veg nearly raw..game pie dreadful...white chcolate and lemon cheese cake...was more marsh mallow than anything else. It's was nearly empty in the dining room...the bar was rammed. Will not be going again.

• Sunday lunch disgusting! beef was grey staff were very unfriendly the veg was all microwaved would not recommend.

• I visited the Dog and Gun yesterday with my wife and we had a bacon/cheese/mayo sandwich with salad and crisps and I think it was great value for money, I would recommend this pub to anyone

• A few weeks ago we had a meal at the dog and gun but were very disappointed . The lady took our order but when mine arrived it was not what I ordered she was very rude saying there was no way I would get pork pie they dont do it that time of year. Then why not tell me at time of ordering I ordered lasagne which was gressy and tasteless. Dont recommend this pub.

• We popped in last night for an early tea-time meal at about 6:00. We chose from the 'specials' menu and enjoyed an excellent meal in friendly surroundings at very reasonable prices. Thank you very much.

• Just been for a meal at The Dog & Gun Great menu Excellent food with very ample servings.Topped with friendly bar staff and a perfectly served pint.What more could you ask for after a long day.

• Went on a recommendation to eat the restaurant is very nice menu looked great afternoon specials good choice unfortunately the blonde woman behind the bar was not very pleasant or welcoming I wasn't welcomed to the place or asked if I would like a drink I actually had to ask her if she was serving then I was served a very flat pint the point is I wanted to ask the said lady who maybe was the landlady ? But not sure maybe she was just the staff . I wanted to bring 18 people to eat in the pub the same evening as it was my 25th wedding anniversary so it's there loss
