• Disgusting service. Food was man handled steaks being put on plates by staff using their hands. No water put on table. Very stressed lady who was waiting on the table. And did not try to hide her stress. Very uncomfortable to watch. Also quite rude attitude towards our table if she was asked or a query put to her. Desserts came with no accompanying sauce ie Christmas pudding on its own. I asked for cream told did not have any. So asked for custard instead. Some of the food was cold as if it was left just sitting. Biggest shock was the price. I paid £100 deposit for our party of 10. Three people did not attend so I assumed you lose the deposit which is fair enough. However when the final bill was being settled. The staff seemed to not want to deduct the deposit which had been paid for the people who had attended. all in all a very poor meal, even poorer service. Terrible customer service. Will most certainly NOT be going back to the Edinburgh Castle for a special occasion. DONT GO THERE..... YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED. I would not even give one star but you cannot give 0. Oh yes this was supposed to be a festive treat for me as I had cooked for my family Christmas day. So the family thought it would be a nice treat. I usually cook myself at home and have the family to my house. You live and learn. At least I know where NOT TO GO,,,,,,,,,
