• Since the change of hands and re-opening of this pub in February 2014 the ambiance is much more welcoming and the food is of a much higher quality. Staff are friendly, particularly the young lady with the long dark hair who served us - can't remember her name but it was unusual! Pop in an see for yourself. Have a lovely meal.

• visited Great Lyde yesterday,for family lunch,most impressed with the beer and great food on offer,this must be the best pub in this area of Yeovil,I will be making this my regular local, well done

• Xmas day dinner was very good. What let it down was the pesentation. No xmas decorations,no table cloths or table decorations, serviettes put on the table not in the glasses. All this added to no atmosphere.

• Though the food is of a very good quality, what lets this pub down is the lack of speed of bar staff. One member of staff serving on a very busy Saturday night function and then again on a similarly busy Sunday lunch time. It's not good enough for a pub with many customers looking for a drink with their superb food.

• 21 of us including children, went for sunday carvery,had to wait for table as second sitting, but, food was delicious, well served and plenty of choice. staff were helpful and friendly. will certainly go again

• GREAT PUB! LOVELY FOOD. CAN RECOMMEND THE SUNDAY LUNCH - GREAT VALUE. MINE-HOST VERY ATTENTIVE AND STAFF FRIENDLY AND EFFICIENT. ATTENDED A FUNCTION THERE AND BUFFET REALLY GOOD.
