• Contrary to other reviews here you will find that the staff are friendly and helpful. If the queue is long that is because the post office is popular, convenient and well used. Staff who appear to be doing nothing are engaged in other aspects of the job. The staff in the post office do post office tasks, the staff in the shop do shop tasks. If you go there with small children you should know that there will be a wait and many distractions. Dont go if you dont like it. Go to Altrincham and try negotiating your way through the shop, lift or stairs and the chicane queueing system. Hale post office is exactly what a village post office should be.

• What a wonderful Post Office. Helpful staff and good service Unfortunate that modern parents cannot control their children who take no notice whatsoever of instructions about not touching sales items. One child called me a "stupid old man" His mother jsut smiled and said "He's very outspoken" and laughed. A red haired woman said she had been waiting for more than 20 minutes to get served but she did admit that nearly all of the time had been spent waiting for the Post Office to open.

• Parents beware! Post Office stocked with tons of toys all placed on the floor or at toddler height. Regardless of lengthy queues, you being visibly pregnant and holding parcels, if you need to stay in line staff will not help you with your little ones! Two staff members today were not serving anyone else. They did not offer me any assistance, spending their time instead on shouting at my 1.5 yr old for unpacking stacks of cards and commenting (loudly, for the rest of the customers to hear) on me not being able to 'control' my children. Unless you're happy to chain your children to their buggies through a 20 minute wait I'd go somewhere else!!

• Awful service. Worth the drive to another post office that can actually do their job. Staff disregarded instruction to send a parcel registered mail, advising on, and allowing, the purchase of postage that ensured parcel could not be tracked. Will not be going back there again
