  • 2 star reviewThe staff are very rude . I left some of my gammon , didnt eat in all and the waiter abruply approached us . There was no problem with it . Got belittled and patronised . Ricidulous . What are the waiters names who used to work in the imperial in 2012? Do anyone remember them? . They need some customer service training .

  • 1 star review horrible place ... Horrible management. These people shouldn't be allowed to run a public house . Rudely refused to serve my partner and I unless we ordered our 20 month old son his own meal. Joseph holts needs to pull out of this sham of a pub. Or get rid of its vile management.

  • 1 star review Horrible place . Refused to serve me and my partner a meal and drinks unless we bought our 20 month old baby a meal too. The place was deserted and no wonder . Vile staff.... the place needs shutting down .

  • 1 star reviewMy wife and i live in southport and there are so many very good places to eat but as i was to discover the Imperial is not one of them.My wife ordered fish and chips, the batter was thick and the fish was grey it should be white if it is fresh,i ordered a steak and mushroom pie that was full of gristle and looked a bit black around the sides i do not know where they buy there frozen chips but they were not nice. They advertise 2 for 1 price but the obviously just double (or treble) the price of the single meal.Like most people all i expect is decent quality and a fair price but what i received was poor way overpriced food, and the attitude of the staff could have been better.

  • 5 star reviewMyself and my family eat here almost every week and have to disagree with most of the bad comments on here. The staff are always very welcoming and the food is always up to a high standard, it is always busy as you receive great food at great value for money can't fault them. I would recommend this pub to anyone. I also have a young baby and they are always very accomadating so be sure to check it out.

  • 1 star reviewService and surroundings ok but food is expensive and tasteless. Had black pudding starter & black pudding was tasteless. Pudding of americal pancakes stodgy &tasteless, alhough the apple filling was ok but sparse. Vanilla ice cream tasteless.

  • 5 star reviewWe have been many times to this pub and everytime we go the food is fantastic piping hot and more upmarket than your usual pub food so well worth the money! It's so welcoming and the staff are always very friendly and remember you if you have been in before!

  • 1 star reviewOk everyone a place to steer clear of!!!! The Imperial Pub in Southport!!!!! Although it's a lovely looking pub look's perfect to spend a relaxing Sunday afternoon and have some dinner with the family we were even greeted with a warm welcome BUT if your child should... Sorry 18month old BABY should decide they don't want to cooperate as baby's often do!!!! Be sure to expect to be abruptly approached, patronised and made to feel like you should leave that very moment!!! And should you express any sort of reply to this unreasonable jumped up loudmouth with no people/managerial skills of a pub owner you will be shown the door if you don't like it as they had complaint's!!!! Obviously from alien's who had never seen a young child behave quite normal for watching his mum dad sister and grandad receive their meal then have to wait another 5minutes before they bring out a scorching hot child's meal. . . And tut when I ask for a cool plate to transfer it to! We had no option but to leave our meal's that we had paid for in advance (which might I add was poor quality)!! As we felt sick and unwelcome :-( I am still furious they judged me and belittled me and my family I'm a brilliant mum with amazing children how dare they spoil my lovely family day! There are way's of dealing with a complaint and I understand all complaints must be follower up but how would the owners feel I I had just stood up and said as loud as I could this meal is poor quality?! NEVER IN MY LIFE HAVE I EXPERIENCED SO CALLED PROFESSIONAL PEOPLE SPEAKING TO THEIR CUSTOMERS IN SUCH AN INTIMIDATING MANNER! So please spread the word avoid this pub and it's obnoxious owner's!! WOULD NOT HAVE GIVEN THIS ANY STARS ;(

  • 1 star reviewDon't bother eating here. They may do 2 for 1, but would you seriously pay over £9.00 for a cheeseburger and chips, or nearly £10.00 for a beef and ale pie? (with free gristle) The veg, peas and carrots, must have been simmering all day - absolute tasteless, and the portion wouldn't have filled a dessert spoon. Definitely NOT recommended.
