went tonight for sunday tea .. which had been booked quite a few weeks in advance .. first impressions were very good .. the outside smoking/family area is outstanding with big screen tv and plenty of space for families to sit outside in summer .. a lot of thought and money spent on this facility and reminded me of holidays abroad .. the sunday menu was very limited .. as i cook sunday lunch every week i went out to have something different but was told they only have sunday lunch plus two specials .. which consisted of fish pie or vegetable lasgne .... we opted (obviously ) for the sunday lunch the pork with apricot stuffing was off .. the RARE beef was off so that left us with meduim to well done beef or rotisserie chicken i have to say the chicken and the beef were delicous .. the whole meal was delicious .. the chef certainly knows how to cook .. our compliant was they consistantly ran out of everything .. no cranberry sauce .. no extra potatoes (was told would have to wait 10 mins ) we had 3 very tiny ones each ...no swede or green beans as advertised on the menu but were offered frozen peas instead . the red cabbage i have to say was to die for ....when the pudding menu was offered .. only 3 puddings were available .. i opted for a liquor coffee instead .. not wanting the choice of bread and butter pudding .. fruit crumble or ice cream ...it was brought to me with a small jug of cream which i had to carefully pourover the back of the spoon myself ... my husband who loves black sheep beer was not able o have any as they ran out of that aswell .. the verdict .. lovely food but have just had to come home and make a sandwich .. still hungry .. please sort the ordering out .. its not good enough to be told "weve been busy today " we are just as important as your sunday lunchtime customers and the lady in charge really needed to look after us a little bit more than she did .. felt neglected :( denise chadburn Reviewed 3rd February 2013 11:10 PM

went to the jolly miller about a month ago and could see that due to the many changes and complete makeover there were bound to be a few teething problems..WENT YESTERDAY,..and WOW what a meal followed by a seat by the fire which wasnt on during my first visit..i really think that this pub will be representing Brigg for an award or two....well done Mike Godfrey and your lovely staff Peter Simpson Brigg Reviewed 6th January 2013 12:51 PM

So sad to see people putting negative reviews, can only assume they must have confused it with somewhere else. Fantastic refurb with great service. Well recommended. Martin Jones Reviewed 2nd January 2013 3:09 PM
If you like bones, gristle, skin and a bland jelly like sauce in your chicken fricasee then this is the meal for you, absolutely disgusting and not worthy of a star rating. Patricia Lammin Reviewed 19th December 2012 2:40 PM
The owners have obviously spent a fortune refurbishing the place to impressive standards, but we were extremely disappointed with the lunchtime menu, I am sorry to say the food was appalling quality and really became quite unpleasant. Chicken meals were bland with a big shard of bone found :-O , with a fair bit of gristle and skin. Curries had slimey skin and gristle too. And why give us an Xmas menu to look at if we then can't order from it anyway? I hope these major teething problems are resolved soon. It pains us to say but they need to rapidly step up several gears to get the basics and service offered and food x10 better than we experienced. YMMV. Sorry but it spoiled our day. 2 stars awarded for the nice premises only. Very disappointed :-( Reviewed 18th December 2012 3:43 PM
