  • 1 star reviewVisited here a few times over the past few months and had noticed the adult meat portions getting smaller each time until one time i had less than my sons childrens portio.Waitress seems to be no better at her job than she was the first time we visited and would clearly prefer to talk with the rest of the staff than take any notice of what is going on around her.Undercooked food.Serving spoons so hot they burn you and you are not warned they may be hot beforehand. Young man who cuts the meat up unfortunately, on our last and final visit here may i add, constantly wiping his nose across his hand and finger in between cutting meat and placing it on our plates!!! Staff need a lot of training even with the basics of food handling and cleanliness waitresses dont have a clue whats goiing on. I picked a serving spoon up which i didnt realise was covered in gravy and finally got waitresses attention as she was busy talking i explained the spoon and my hand were covered in gravy so she apologised and got a tea towel and wiped spoon handle turned around put towel down and promptly went back to talking with another staff member with her back turned to me i tried getting her attention again but she was oblivious to me but luckily another member of staff a young man saw i needed help and promptly got me a serviette to wipe my hand.Such a shame really as the first time we visited here we were impressed with the food but not the waitressing but each time its got worse and worse

  • 1 star reviewCarvery today, food was luke warm and veg uninspiring. Being run by a bunch of kids who clearly have not been trained. Can you believe it that they had ONE dessert only.... Undercooked rice pudding!

  • 2 star reviewSaturday 7th September.... Had a VERY SLOW meal at the New Inn, this is the second visit to review the Food and Service. The food was ver well presented BUT NOT as well cooked as the first visit in April/May..The front of House was AWFULL....our Waitress SLAMMED our wine on the table and thru' the cap after it!!!!! She did not want to know how the meal was and could not half the Bill on the Credit Card machine!!! The lack of supervision on (The second most IMPORTANT part of a Restraunt is FRONT of HOUSE) is the OWNER/OPERATORS FAULT... I give this enterprise 12 Months... I WILL NOT EAT HERE AGAIN... A SUCCESSFLL BUSINESS MAN for over 30 Years....I LOOK AFTER MY CUSTOMERS!!!!!!

  • 1 star reviewFinally got round to visiting this pub for sunday dinner. Arrived at 1pm worried we might not get a table but need not have worried as it was empty except one other table. Carvery was cold, veg boring and most of it looked like it was frozen veg, gravy cold. Very very disappointed for what we had paid when we knew we could get better elsewhere.

  • 4 star reviewwe went on thursday for a meal (13/12/12) the pub looks lovely after te refurbishment ( I was told by staff it was only done a few weeks before) The plates were very hot as was the food and it tasted wonderfull with a nice variety of veg. The chef looked very clean and smart, she was very friendly and chatty. Wuld definately recommend, just wish it was a bit busier.

  • 2 star reviewvisited sat 01/09/2012 1800hrs the restaurant area was empty and was still empty when we left at 1900hrs, the food was hot and basic my wife tells me the meats were very tasty (as im vegie i ate veg only),the carvery and board meals were all priced at £5.95 and £6.95 on sundays,it was ok but we have eaten in much nicer pubs for the same price with more variety, i think a fairer price would be £4.00, we won't be returning

  • 1 star reviewSunday carvery was horrible. Parsnips were under cooked, new potatoes were bad. Tried to complain, not offered an apology. Chef wasn't dressed in proper chef's clothing either.
