• A very good pub and a really great landlord, never had any problems with the food, and its better than McDonald's, food is always fresh, drinks are nicely priced, compared to most town centre bars eh which are pricey. They also host band nights once a month, great bar staff and always happy to serve you.

• We always visit the Sherwood when we finish work early on Friday afternoons. The staff are really nice, and the food has got better over the past few months. Yes, the pub could do with a lick of paint, but nothing too drastic, and we always are made to feel very welcome. However, they really do need to get their acts together regarding children running wild in the bar area, I realise full well that Parents are mainly to blame for how they allow their children to behave, but really, today (Friday 5th July) lovely weather, did we really need 8 children running in and out of the doors from the garden area, hitting the cash machines, and staff having to swerve to miss them, while their mothers sat outside, oblivious to anything other than the texts they were receiving and sending. Health and Safety would have a field day with this. The Sherwood needs a notice showing quite clearly that if children are in the bar area, they must stay seated, and not run around the full pub. Also, jumping across the outside tables isn't a good advertisement for others who may want to call in for a drink after work. I do have children, I do have grand children, and whilst I realise parents need a break, Sherwood staff are not babysitters for irresponsible parents, and you will lose good paying customers if this practice continues. • Had a very bad meal at the Sherwood. Meant to be be Pasta in a Sauce but there was no sauce and parts of the pasta wasnt cooked. I did mention this to the waiter who just grunted and offered no apology
