• We have both lived in so many different places in the UK and abroad. I have lived in Chichester in West Sussex, so many cities in Germany throughout Germany as an Army Child, the youngest of 5 in 6 years, finishing with twins!!!!!!! My poor parents, both in their 20s!!! Can you imagine?!!! Anyway to stay on track, this fish and chip shop delivers us both and our families' the VERY BEST FISH & chips Friday tea we have ever had including Whitby!!! Haddock is standard. No rubbish useless tasteless cod with bones to pick out or choke on. Just'Meaty'lovely haddock cooked perfectly, tender to the taste, it would dissolve in your mouth, unless like me you bite into it cos you love the 'meatiness' of Haddock. Even in Hexham and Whitby, you got cod unless you specified Haddock,in which case I had to walk my dogs round the Seke Park or the harbour so haddock could be prepared specially! Oh and the service of Paul and souz chef Karen...well what can I say! They both make sure they get to know your names so greet you personally every week even though you are new to the area! I usually phone our order in so I can ask how soon is convenient for them, depending on how far round the block the queue is stretching and it usually is snaking out of the shop and down the street! All of us who live in Thornbill are solo lucky to have this really special fish and chip round the corner!!
