• Having had excellent meals some years ago here, we called for an evening meal on 29.3.2012. On walking in to the pub, we received no welcome and were looked at as if we had grown horns. We asked the stony faced bar lady for drinks, which were adequate and then asked for the menu. We chose home made pork and apple pie which turned out to be meat gunge covered in a separate pie crust and fish and chips, the fish having been overcooked. Both were served with horrible peas which looked like they had been cooked many times over. The food was over-priced for what we had (two drinks and the meal over £25) but on the plus side, the pub is a lovely old building, the waitress speedy and efficient and the plates were hot.

• Spare ribs lush, came with a free glass and an umbrella!!!!!! now under new managment, cheers for the banter had a fun time,and hello chef. well worth the visit.
