• My wife and me were just passing by the Baron's Cross Inn, we fancied a bite to eat so turned around and headed back to the pub. My wife wanted to use their toilet, she was directed to the toilet but found it populated by spider's webs. The staff at first were unsure as to wether they wan ted to serve us. However we ordered a jacket potato with a light filling; I fancied a Ploughman's and a pint of beer. We sat down and whiled away the time by trying to get an Internet connection but we were unsuccessful. For two simple meals the time taken was I think unreasonable. The meals finally arrived and were poorly presented. I began eating my Ploughman's meal of various cheeses and pickle in amongst small thin slices of red apple. The brown bread that I had asked for echoed off the plate, you guessed it! Stale and hardened. I complained about the stale bread the man who appeared to be in charge said it was hard comming out of the microwave. I said it was probably stale before or never even went into the microwave . My wife's jacket potato was of poor size not much bigger than a chicken's egg. £1.00 was taken of the total price of the meals and drinks; we left without making a scene as there were only one elderly couple they were just about to eat their cooked meal. We returned to South Wales vowing to never visit Baron's Cross Inn ever again .
