• . We lunch here on Sundays whenever we are free. Fabulous food. The Roast Beef is Sirloin too - most unusual, as it is only the very top hotels that usually offer Sirloin or Rib, usually it is the cheaper cut of Topside or Silverside. Food beautifully presented. Not a large menu but more than adequate and I always find something delicious (and I'm someone who doesn't eat fish, offal or game - so can be hard to please). Evening meals equally delicious and cooked and presented well. This is good value food (the Sunday Lunch is £12.95 for 3-courses - as at December 2012) and of the standard of top restaurants (and even then better than most who claim that distinction. Give it a try - you'd be a VERY odd person if you weren't delighted!! .

• Visited for lunch on Wednesday. Good but limited menu plus three specials. Food was beautifully presented and very good. Service was excellent. But hardly any customers except for a large group enjoying the sun in the beer garden. I understand that Sunday lunch is busy. I think the problem is that with no businesses or shops nearby there is no passing trade. This place is a gem, and I will certainly be going back soon.

• Discovered this hidden gem on Saturday night, the food is first class and local produce, you would struggle to find such cuisine in a top rated Bristol restaurant. This is a must for anyone in the locality to try and if like me you enjoyed the food, you will soon become a regular at this under used pub.
