• The Bell Inn IS everyone's idea of a traditional heart of the village pub. The welcome is always VERY welcoming. Derek, the Landlord, cooks amazing food at really reasonable prices, his wife Angela, cannot do enough to make you feel at home and No 1 son, Liam who generally runs the bar, helps out at tables and is brilliant with the most awkward customers, not that there are many in the Bell as the atmosphere is so jolly and relaxing. We live in Scotland and travel all over UK and Europe and have enjoyed lots of lovely people & places but The Bell is defintely top of our list.So if you are passing thro' Great Bardfield, stop and enjoy one of the few traditional, oldfashioned pub. After all, there are not many of this ilk left.
