  • 1 star reviewabsolutely descusting.. maggots found in the salad, when we confronted the manager (Steve) he refused to believe the maggot was in the food on arrival, and said we had placed the maggot in the food, absolutely outrageous customer services, once we had finally received a refund after a heated argument we was barred from the pub, compleatly desisting behaveour

  • 4 star reviewWe visited here 21st Jan 2015 as a foursome. Very impressed with food, fresh plentiful and good value. Only gripe was, when ordering a Gaelic coffee, squirty cream was used. To me this is a cop out, as, once you get half way down the glass it turns to sludge. I presume if you order a pudding with "cream" you get squirty too? Come on The Bell, you're better than that. P.S. excellent ales too.

  • 1 star reviewTerrible experience on what should have been a family afternoon out for lunch. Poor food, bad attitude from the staff when we complained. Disabled access is a joke and the bar set up is ridiculous for a so called restaurant. Having read other comments (not just on here) it seems they have most problems on a Sunday so my suggestion would be to re-think these days or close. My main problem was the fact that our comments and feedback were not taken constructively but we were told that there had never been any complaints before! Well, clearly there has been complaints but they just don't like to admit it when they are in the wrong. What happened to the customer always being right? I would not recommend this place, especially if you are vegetarian as one of the options was a load of tinned veg with mashed potato on top, and called a vegetarian cottage pie.

  • 5 star reviewMy husband and I have just had a two for one meal at lunchtime and it was excellent value for money and could not fault it. Staff were very friendly and drinks were good.

  • 5 star reviewWe visit the Bell at least once weekly and partake of the excellent two for one menu which operatesin the week till 7pm.We always eat in the bar as we are allowed to take our two well behaved dogs into this area. The bars are comfortably furnished and the food and drinks are always wonderful. We even take home every time a dish of the chef`s excellent homemade chips-non better! The young staff are well trained and very friendly.

  • 1 star reviewWe visited the Bell the week before Christmas with out two children, we were told that we could have a table for an hour and twenty minutes as it was booked out, this was fine. However when our starter still hadn't arrived 35 minutes after ordering it became more of an issue. When the starter did arrive it was till frozen in the middle and the lady manager responded to us by saying "I didn't expect you to have starters" my sons main course was so burnt he couldn't eat it which the staff totally ignored our comments about. We have used the Bell on a number of times and this is the second bad experience we have had, the first involving mouldy pizza, This time the attitude of the staff was very poor as was the food, will not be visiting again.

  • 5 star reviewCertainly the best value meal we have ever had.The service was first class, the meals had that special quality rarely found on a 2 for 1 menu. Not the last time we shall visit the Bell Inn
