• We eat at this pub quite regularly and find the food and beer very good. The management is friendly and helpful and always bright and cheerful. Highly recommended and one can get a very blue steak if one asks Ignore the above comments they are from a long time ago.

• The staff, food and drink, in our experience, have been consistently good value for money. The location is great - outside of Winter, when they usually have some fires burning. I and my family visit every few weeks or so as a result.

• Beautiful location, superb management and staff and the food is very good for the price. There is a good variety of beer and guest ales, all of which are very well looked after and the red wine is the best I've tasted at a pub for a long time. Extremely child friendly and well run, we love it here!

• Visited twice in as many weeks. I had steak on both occasions - the first time because it sounded good, the second to test the theory that there may have been a different chef on who can cook steak anything other than cremated. WRONG. My lady had fish and chips the second time we went. 'nice' - we won't be returning. Feel sorry for the locals as this 'pub' is 95% set up as an eatery. Remember - you can have the steak how you want it - so long as it is well done. VERY disappointed.

• Completely agree with the last review, we used to come in all the time but since the management change its just gotten awful, I've seen the new guy about 3 times, feels like its ran by young children.

• This pub is our local and we often call off for a meal...not any more. The meal we had tonight was awful. The salad looked like it had been left out for hours and was slimy and soggy. My potatoes were a funny clour inside with black bits, and the quiche was cold in the middle with big pieces of uncooked onions. I spoke to a member of staff about it but felt as if this was all we could expect for such a small price. We have noticed that the standard of food has been reducing for quite a while but this was awful and we won't be going back. What a shame as the pub is in a lovely location.
