"Family run pub, where all the family are welcome, including the dog! Food served from 12pm till 9pm. 2 real ales which are changed with every barrel. Beer garden and parking. Free wi-fi. Bed and breakfast also available. "

• Decided to go in here because the cafe we had been recommended for lunch was closed. We ordered chips as a side order and what a pleasure! Freshly home cooked and much better than we had elsewhere- also very friendly and welcoming staff and real coal fires! On the way out we spotted Bilberry pie on the menu- my mum used to make this and I hadn't had any in years- seems the landladies mother still made it herself- so we stayed for pudding and weren't disappointed! One of those unexpectedly good lunches that we will remember for a long time- thank you!

• What a lovely pub! Arrived late Sun lunch after a bracing walk from Staithes via Runswick. Were happy to sit outside, but a lovely local gent told us that muddy boots & a dog were no problem. Went in! A fantastic "local" & both Paula the bar person & all the locals fantastically friendly. Good, cheap beer & toasties at £1.50 a bargain. Chatted to a lot of lovely people. Warm, clean & welcoming after a long walk. Highly recommended & thanks to all. Ann, Bri, & Stan the collie. x

• this pub is a hidden delight very welcoming staff and locals alike.lovely open fire and scrumptious home cooked food.the best homemade chips.dont miss out on your trip

• Is the most freindly pub ive been in for a long time .we had our wedding reception there on the 8 th july 2011 it was most exellent.the food is cooked to a top standard.
