  • 5 star reviewRecently attended a Christening at the Brown Cow and the buffet was excellent along with the staffs friendliness, nothing was too much. Would definitely hire this venue for a function as the ambience contributed to a lovely day.

  • 5 star reviewForget all you read prior to December 2013. This Inn is now under new management and the service and quality of food is now excellent. We went here for an evening meal in summer and the food was awful and the beer undrinkable - we vowed we would never go again but, having been told that it was under new management, my wife and I and a couple of friends had a meal there a few days ago. Everyone enjoyed the food. The staff were very attentive and friendly. We will be going again very soon! Try it!

  • 1 star review5 of us booked a table on sunday3 nov to celebrate my birthday we ordered 5 roast beef lunches we were told it may be a while we didnt mind. almost an hour later another party of 3 demanded there money back as they couldnt wait any longer the barmaid wasnt too pleased .shortly after this our meals arrived what can i say except it was awful 1soggy flat yorkshire pudding 3cubes of roast pototoe 1 broccli spear and carrots and green beansand finally the roast beef it was just strands of shredded beef that had a funny taste and all this was swimming in gravy i think to try hide the mess on the plate.it was not edible the very chatty waitress asked us if the meal was ok when we said no it was awful the smiles went . we got the silent treatment.we paid the bill and left 5 uneaten meals we went home and i made 5 hungry people bacon sanwiches. my advice dont waste your money the food is the worst meal i have ever had

  • 1 star reviewWe arrived at this pub at around 8:30pm with a few friends on the 11.11.12 as we arrived we went straight to the pool table and tv area as we had visited once before, we racked up a game of pool and started playing and In between our shots we were discussing what drinks we were all going to have as their is a minimum spend of 10pound when using card in this pub, we had been in the pub no longer than 10minuets when one of the landlords (small bald fat guy) who seemed to have small man syndrome, walked from the other side of the bar and said \\"are you thinking of ordering any drinks today as this is a pub\\" I replied\\" yes we will order drinks after this game as I\\\'m not sure what everyone is having yet\\" he came back with \\"no you will order drinks now this is not a social club McDonald\\\'s is down the road if you want somewhere to keep warm\\" with this I was shocked and rather annoyed, after this i explained nobody is sure what where having yet as we needed to discuss the group order due the the minimum spend on card\\" he proceeded to be extremely rude until the point he walked round the bar whilst his other colleugue shouted Martin several times to tell him to stop what he was doing as she obviously knew he was in the wrong, after him waddling around the bar he got close to my face I wouldn\\\'t describe it as squaring up to me as that would be a lie he carried on being extremely rude, and telling me I was giving him \\"lip\\" when I quite clearly wasn\\\'t as my girlfriend was present and I was keeping my cool, it resulting in us all feeling very intimidated and un easy we left, at this point I was absolutely fuming but their was nothing I could do as he had friends the other side of the bar who would take his side in the result of any retaliation on my behalf and I would end up being the one in the \\"wrong\\" in the eyes of the police if it came to that, after we left the pub the land lady approached us in the car park obviously as she felt as though an explanation was needed as she and all the other customers where well aware that this fella was in the wrong. I was absolutely discusted but their was nothing I could do that wouldn\\\'t have reprocussions or put my girlfriend at risk or make her upset. This is not the end of this and this Martin guy will understand he was in the wrong his time will come! Jack Rooney - Lincoln
