• In what way could this be a 'Fine family pub'? (landlord's own Google review). The worst pub experience I have ever had. Went in for a pub lunch with husband, daughter (16) son (13) and dog. We had sat down and ordered and paid for a round of drinks before a male member of staff approached and -- in a very loud voice and as though he was having a go at us -- told us that there was nowhere on their premises we could sit with both a dog and a disabled 13 year old. As it had started to rain and my son's cerebral palsy means he chills quickly, sitting outside wasn't an option for us. The loud, rude man would not refund the cost of the drinks as he couldn't 'resell them' (his words). We have had family pub lunches, as most families have, across the UK, and I have never had an experience so unpleasant. On holiday too. Shame, nasty man, shame. Manners cost nothing, there was absolutely no reason for you to be so rude. I have come away shaking from what should have been a pleasant holiday family lunch with our two well-behaved teenagers and a quiet dog.But you have our £9.80 and our drinks, what do you care?
