• The pub its self is very nice and adds a little magic to Newark with it being on the river Trent. We sat on the top deck and it looked a little tired. The bottom deck is lovely and clean but the top deck needs a little TLC and maybe a new carpet. I have some food and it was a bit of a let down. The "Nottinghamshire Sausages Award-Winning Sausage (Pork Venison & Bramley Apple) With Mashed Potato, Vegetables & Guinness Gravy" was more like cafe food and not worth the £6.95. Instant mash potato, frozen veg and the Sausages were boiled to death. To be honest the only thing that I enjoyed was the gravy. The presentation was more like school dinners, than a near £7 pub meal. I would happily go back to this boat pub for a nice pint but for a meal forget it.
