  • 2 star reviewI've been drinking in this bar for a few years now and used to think it was a good pub. Had some really good nights and was a lively atmosphere. Yes there was a bit of trouble from time to time but like all pubs. The atmosphere in the pub has gone sour since the new management has taken over and the staff are rid and miserable now. Don't think I will be going back for a while and will find somewhere else to have my weekend pint. Sad really, as things were getting better!

  • 1 star reviewCould be a great pub, but sadly isn't. Other customers are an acquired taste and the staff more so...both females serving seemed more keen on checking their phones and gossiping rather than serving customers. Experience of this place was all in all very uncomfortable. Couldn't finish my pint soon enough. Oh and don't hope for any food...the most you can hope for is a bag of crisps.

  • 1 star reviewTerrible bar, inconsiderate owners. Never should of been built. Raves on a Friday night...are we still in the 90s? Using the car park as a sun terrace, wow. Could of been and should of been a nice pub, maybe if the landlord wasn't so gutless it could of been. Business plan...let the punters do what they want and you might make enough money to stay open? To the comment below about new local residence, it's those new locals who have made longbenton not a bad area and not the hole it used to be, also we can thank those locals as my house has now gone up in value thanks to them, maybe when people like you have your giro taken from you and you learn respect you might see the Charnwood fro what it is...a blight on longbenton.

  • 3 star review Being from Glasgow and have frequented some rough pub in my time, I found The Charnwood a pleasant change. Not once in my first 30 minutes there had my face been offered an intimate introduction to a pint glass. Drinks were ok price wise and was suprised by the good deal on local Tesco burgers.

  • 1 star reviewBar staff are unfriendly and have bad attitude as are many of the regulars, noise from this pub is disgusting music blasting until early hours regular rave nights occur in here. Food is disgusting not much effort put into making it, outside of bar looks untidy and doesn't get much better inside. Empty glasses all around the bar, ended up moving them myself as staff weren't goin to do it. A lot of young people causing fights, throwing chairs around and giving people abuse. All I can say is enter at your own risk, you have been warned. Such a shame aswell as this could of been a really nice pub, just get rid of the bar staff and young hooligans that go in there.
