• I got totally ripped off by this dentist. I was at a private dentist last year and he gave me an X-ray saying I had a whole in my back left tooth and would need a filling. So I decided to go to an nhs dentist. I phone Cotmandene dental surgery. I saw a man and he said that from the X-ray and looking that I didn't. Now this year I've gone back with terrible pain in both back teeth on each side and saw a lady at Cotmandene dental surgery, now she's says I have two wholes in both sides. Now I have to have two fillings its going to cost £80 per white filling and will have to have a clean as well for £40 now this service was going to cost £200 that I haven't got. After speaking to a few people and looking online I came across this Don't let your NHS Dentist rip you off, and understand the pricing structure. There are three standard charges for all NHS dental treatments: Band 1 course of treatment – £18.00 This covers an examination, diagnosis (including X-rays), advice on how to prevent future problems, a scale and polish if needed, and application of fluoride varnish or fissure sealant. Band 2 course of treatment – £49.00 This covers everything listed in Band 1 above, plus any further treatment such as fillings, root canal work or removal of teeth. Band 3 course of treatment – £214.00 This covers everything listed in Bands 1 and 2 above, plus crowns, dentures and bridges. Don't let your dentists rip you off like Cotmandene dental surgery does. I would have believed it I'm not going back I've found a lovely dentist in orpington high street next to the chemist !
