  • 5 star reviewMY PARTNER AND MY SELF LIVE NEAR TAMWORTH AND OFTEN GO INTO BIRMINGHAM FOR A GOOD CURRY, BUT I HAVE TO SAY I HAVE NEVER TASTED CURRY LIKE DINE INDIA ITS HOW A CURRY SHOULD BE, WE HAVE ALWAYS HAD GOOD SERVICE AND AS A MADRAS EATER IF IT HAS NOT BEEN TO MY LIKING THEY HAVE HAPPILY CHANGED IT. ITS WELL WORTH THE TRAVELING DISTANCE, I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMEND DINE INDIA

  • 2 star reviewGreat first impressions with a busy restaurant and friendly staff. Booked a table for 15 but but at the very last minute sitting down this the restaurant some of the group couldn't make it and some were running late. One member of staff confronted us at our table whist we were eating our starters and rudely informed us that next time we should ring an hour earlier to tell them if less people are coming. (Understandable however, we re confirmed him that we were let down at the last minute) We told him that 5 were on their way however take the table and please give it to someone else as we don't want you to loose any business. He still persisted to challenge us. This made us feel very uncomfortable. It felt like we were children and the teacher was telling us off. The atmosphere changed dramatically within our group. When our main course arrived the staff member couldn't care less on how he 'Chucked' us our plates and dishes. They were thrown down on the table, On top of our cutlery, on our other plates and our napkins. Some were even given to us by hand? Surely its professional and good customer service to place the food down in front of us??? One member gave me a plate of food, He stretched over another member of the group and wasn't looking at all on what he was doing then let go without me holding it - Luckily I managed to catch it in time. We all knew that something wasn't right with the behaviour that they we showing and the service that they were giving. They didn't even say "Thank you" or "I'm sorry about the wait as one persons rice was forgotten on the order" or even "How are you all finding your meal, is everything ok" Clearly the staff were told about our situation and we personally felt they didn't like us or care. After the main course 5 members of the group turned up, They sat down and ordered drinks. They understood that they were late and couldn't order food. I went to the Bar area to speak with the manager. I requested that I wanted to talk to him in a quiet area away from the other paying customers. I told him about our poor service and how shocked we were. I travelled from Loughborough (22 miles) as I was recommend that This was the place to eat. I apologised to him regarding the number of guest not turning up but he insisted that 'The only person who should be annoyed is me - my staff wouldn't treat you any different' I challenged the manager on what he had said and hoped to him that they did treat us differently because if this is the normal service then it is very poor. After this conversation with the manager EVERY member of staff changed the way the spoke to us and especially how they approached us. Surprise Surprise!!! Good food, Good establishment, Poor service.
