• I wouldn't wish Howdens Torquay and one of their trade only account holders Jake Cornforth Carpentry Services on my worst enemy. Stay clear if you value your health, hard earned money, and sanity as they will throw you to the wolves at the first opportunity as soon as things go wrong, and absolutely everything did go very wrong with no end of damaged items supplied and no doubt also created by Jake Cornforth, an awful fitter who thought nothing of installing no end of damaged items with chips and dents galore in our new kitchen without giving us and Howdens the chance to replace them. He also failed to take the time to understand the design which had to be altered as a result. And he wouldn't finish the job almost three months after he'd started on a job he said would take three weeks. He was always busy doing other jobs including working on his own home. There were also many areas of poor quality workmanship. He showed anger and hostility when asked to put right what he did and had no customer appreciation or respect. Jake Cornforth blamed Howdens and Howdens blamed Jake Cornforth until they blamed me by implying I was being fussy and expecting too much, all of which was done to cover up their poor practice and non existent customer care and absolve themselves of any responsibility for what turned out to be a nightmare experience . I DO NOT recommend Howdens Torquay and Jake Cornforth based on my experience, and have good reason not to trust them, they are unprofessional, have shady ethics, and a poor culture with non existent customer care. Please beware. I don't want anyone else to experience the nightmare I experienced.
