• this pub really is as bad as simon above says . they dont like noise and if your a stranger its like going into a saloon in the wild west. food is terrible too . no wonder they had to send leaflets through the door pleading for custom. avoid at all costs

• Was in there the other night with family who had come up to visit from England so thought we would take them to our "local friendly family pub". Have to say the food was not very good at all. Vegetables were over cooked and soggy, how can you mess up vegetables? I expected home cooking from a place like the Irvine but it was just frozen stuff reheated, really poor for being the only place in the village. Barmaid was a bit rude too, we were only folk in there and she still felt the need to make a snide comment about us being too loud! Im sorry were we in a library or a pub? I can understand if there were other diners but there wernt, just us! Spent close to £100 so paid her wages for the night and then some, and she still acted like then, really shouldnt be saying stuff like that to the customers, especially when your desperate for them to come throught the doors! Place has really gone downhill, no wonder no one goes there anymore, all this after popping fliers through doors saying "use it or lose it" makes me laugh really, I dont live round here anymore, only up to visit family from time to time, and anyone I do bring up with me from now on ill be telling, give that place a wide berth!

• Irvine arms is a lovely snug resteraunt me and my husband often go there for high teas on a sunday, very friendly staff and good food!
