• We came upon the Jolly Sailor almost by accident, having tried two other pubs for food and being unsuccessful - how pleased I am that we did. The staff were very friendly and the food was excellent and very obviously home cooked. I ordered the Thai Fish Curry which was outstanding. It came with an additional fish cake which again was excellent. I would happily recommend the Jolly Sailor to anyone. The only negative comment would be that the portion was so generous that I couldn't manage a dessert - maybe next time!Even the locals said goodnight as we left!
