• My wife & I have had roast beef for our Sunday lunch at the New Inn. It was delicious and very reasonably priced. We will certainly go back again.

• Husband and I had lunch there on 15 Feb 2012 after reading good review in Darlington & Stockton Times. We can fully recommend it. Service was pleasant and efficient, menu varied and good choice of beers at bar. Our starters, (mushrooms in cream sauce and Pate) were delicious, and freshly prepared, and the main courses were extremely tasty and good value. Husband's steak and ale pie was "a proper pie, with a bottom on it" and full of tender juicy steak, while my fishcakes were hot and crispy, and the mustard sauce with them unusual and delicious, Accompanying veg and chips were just right. Our bill which included coffees and drinks was less than we expected - excellent value. Do go and sample this pub - a bit off the beaten track but well worth the effort!
