• I haven't been to the Plaice on the Green for nearly a year as I have been dieting. But tonight, to celebrate we treated ourselves. Sadly I have to agree with Mr K. The batter was hard and dry, the large cod was only a small portion (hiding in lots of batter) and there were lots of hard dregs in the chips. Standards have fallen, I'm sorry to say

• Mr K is talking absolute rubbish....l worked in Campions when it was in Station Road and the standard in Plaice on the Green is well up to the standard that was expected and given then. l have never had a bad piece of fish, batter always very light and crispy...just as it should be and chips are great. Service is very good from most of staff and am always greeted by a cheery smile or good evening. would suggest Mr K keeps well away if he has such a bad deal and can't say anything nice.

• I have visited this place a few times. They say they are open late. But twice I have been refused a burger or anything that is going to require restarting the grill as they shut it all down half an hour before they are scheduled to close. The staff do not care if the customer is happy or not and there is no pride in what and how they serve. The food gets worse everytime. Round the corner is Smarts Fish Bar. By far superior.

• Amazing fish and chip shop, best i've tasted anywhere. I've moved to Fareham but drive all the way here to get them!!

• This place has gone downhill. I have used this fish and chip shop for years and have often recommended it. Last night at 6.30 I bought the worst meal I had ever had with dry fish, burnt fish cakes and rubbery chips. Won't be going back

• The only rubbish is Mr. K's review. Best Fish and Chips for miles, even at 5.30

• Truely awful Fish and Chips. Twice fried inedible rubbish again. Will never waste money on this place again. We have kids and so go in this place around 5.30. Always get the lunch time leftovers kept warm. Shocking, really BAD.
