• Unfortunately they no longer do food. There is a sign by the canal which encouraged us to moor up and walk up for an evening meal. After a long trek we were very disappointed to be told by the barman that as long as he'd known it they hadn't ever done food. He was very sorry but unable to help. I told him how he could, that is by taking down the misleading sign! It's very annoying when you moor up specifically to visit a canalside eating place, get cleaned up and walk a fair way just to realise you've been conned. Our only option was to return to our boat and prepare a meal. We refused to spend anything on drinks having been so messed about.

• What a lovely place? From the atmosphere to the food The Plough just cannot be faulted.The locals are absolutely charming and so helpful and friendly. On a recent walking trip my friends and I arrived tired and hungry but shortly after the kitchen had shut. A couple of the locals offered to call the next pub up to see if there was any food going there, but as we were reluctantly leaving the welcoming roaring log fire and the equally warm ambience the landlord offered to cook us something up. And we were so glad we took him up on his offer. The food was superb and the service top class. Well done The Plough you've certainly got what it takes. I would travel all the way back to Wales just to visit this lovely pub. Thank you.
