• We've been going to this pub for manyyears and whilst it has to have one of the most beautiful settings it really was dreadful. The service was appalling, no greeting from the surly bar staff, and having a notice to say 'Ring for service' is unacceptable and didn't work anyway! The menu is uninspired and too expensive and the whole place had a feeling of not being bothered. The tables weren't cleared and were dirty and the loos were appalling, dirty paper all over the ladies and gents. This was on a Sunday afternoon in August! If the landlord is going to leave the pub in the care of students he should make sure that they have a good standard. It's a shame as this always had a good reputation. We certainly won't go again and we noticed that it was not even very busy to excuse the poor standard.
