  • 5 star reviewII dont beleive some of these comments . Me and my partner have been coming here from Port Talbot for years and never had a bad meal THE food is fresh always cooked well. We usually go for cbicken and Diane sauce and you get lots of home cut chips not the ffozen ones

  • 1 star reviewWent here for Christmas dinner. Place was very festive and the staff were pleasant. The food was dreadful. PROCESSED meat.Undercooked potatoes, raw parsnips.Disgusting undercooked meringue for dessert. One mouthful was enough...the undercooked egg white was like slime in your mouth. DISGUSTING. Nearly £200 for four of us and we had to go home and make sandwiches because we couldn't eat the food. PROCESSED MEAT FOR CHRISTMAS DINNER ! UNBELIEVABLE !!!!!

  • 1 star reviewWe had had a meal here before and it had been fine so we had no qualms about booking our Christmas dinner here. When we arrived the place looked very festive and the staff had dressed up as Mother Christmas. The tables were nicely decorated with quite good quality crackers and the gingerbread man at eavh place setting was a nice touch. I had melon to start which came in a thick wedge which I found difficult to cut but it was sweet and juicy. The rest of our party had pate which was very strong and had an unpleasant texture. After one or two mouthfuls they all left it. When the main course was put in front of us we could hardly believe our eyes..it was PROCESSED meat. I tasted my turkey hoping that it would taste better than it looked..it didn't. My husband said his beef was awful as well. We all wrapped our meat up to take home for our dogs. The "new" potatoes were hard and tasteless and the parsnips were almost raw. I don't know if they were roast or boiled but they hadn't even been scraped properly. We were given plenty of swede, carrots and sprouts but everything was tasteless even the gravy. We left nearly all the meal. My husband had Christmas pudding which was okay. My son-in-law was given a huge portion of black forest gateau which he enjoyed. My daughter and I had ordered the raspberry roulade which sounded delicious....how wrong can you be? The concoction that was put in front of us was an underdone meringue with a swirl of pink stuff running through it. When I put a spoonful in my mouth the undercooked egg white was like slime. DISGUSTING ! We had instant coffee which was okay and we each had a satsuma and a mince pie which we took home with us as we didn't want to linger there. This is the first time in my life that I have walked away from a Christmas dinner feeling hungry. We went home and made sandwiches. This travesty of a meal had cost nearly £200 for the four of us. In defense of the chef, I defy anyone to make a decent dinner with PROCESSED meat. PROCESSED MEAT FOR CHRISTMAS DINNER! UNBELIEVABLE!!!!

  • 1 star reviewHad the misfortune of having a meal at the pub yesterday. Staff were not really customer focused at all. This was a shock as the venue is actually quite pleasant. There was plenty of food, but it was undercooked. We sent our fish back. The staff weren't really apologetic . In fact they seemed quite put out that we were sending the slop back! To add insult to injury, the 'fresh' food was ALSO undercooked. I have never heard of a restaurant not accepting bank or credit cards... At least not since 1987! However, Rock and Fountain only accept cash. I am thoroughly disappointed with venue. The night following my visit I was ill. Loosing half a nights sleep, as I was in the bathroom. What nailed it for me, is I shared the replacement fish with my cat. I brought the fish home as the replacent arrived after everyone else had finished their food. My cat after eating the fish, was also ill overnight!! Disgusting service, and appalling quality of food. Yet you display a five star rating outside!!! The fact that your car park was empty should have told us enough. Avoid this venue.... Drive by and find somewhere who actually care. BEWARE!!!!!!!!!!!!
