• Visited April 2022. This meal was a big disappointment. The starter mixed grill wasn't too bad but the meats could have had more flavour. The prawn puree wasn't awful but had a very bland sauce. The tandoori chicken biryani was just as bland with hardly any flavour to the rice, not much tandoori chicken, and what was there lacked a good tandoori flavour. The accompanying vegetable curry was just sad. A reasonable mild curry sauce but where were the veg? A few potatoes and what looked like onions were all that was in it. Anyone who's had a good biryani knows that the accompanying veg curry is just that, with a good mix of veg. The balti lamb saag was equally disappointing. The only thing "balti" about it was that it was served in a balti dish (and a low quality one at that). Unlike good baltis it wasn't served sizzling and was just about warm. It looked like it had been sitting for a while before being brought out. The lamb was tender and had a good flavour. But the saag, you know the green bits, were barely visible. Basically it was a standard mild curry- verging on bland again - dumped into a balti dish. Would it have killed them to put a teaspoon of balti paste in it to make it different to a standard lamb curry? The keema naan was a joke. Mostly red dye with the thinnest and not very big layer of keema meat. What a let down. Not a deal killer but the menus were folded A3 photocopies. It's as if they want to project an atmosphere of low quality. It's really evident that every corner has been cut in these dishes to extract maximum profit but unfortunately at the cost of producing good curries. Any good points? Well, the servers were friendly and the after meal mint was passable. The restaurant itself is quite pleasant. Conclusion: We arrived really early in the evening and were the only ones there, so they can't claim they were rushed off their feet as an excuse for this very lacklustre meal. I think their prices are lower than nearby curry restaurants and unfortunately it shows in the product. It's sad if this is what passes for a decent curry in Kettering. I won't be returning.
