• This has changed from being a charming woodland reserve to one where it feels more like entering a prison camp. High fences to keep out the herd of Fallow Deer for whom it had been home, equally high padlocked metal gates, with same purpose - apparently to allow Nightingales to return. Swathes of tree and scrub cleared to act as 'killing-fields' from the deer-seats positioned to 'control' the deer that remain or do get past the "barbed wire and security lights". This place used to be one of peace and beauty, and was a favourite; it now makes me angry each time I go and visit. It is very local to me so an obvious place to visit.
