• Buyers be warned, it really is a pay your money you take your chances. I bought a vehicle and paid a fair price £6K. It needed some repairs, new tyres , new wheel bearing,full service and a professional valet. Having spent around £700 it was now how it should be. Then came a call from the garage servicing the vehicle......this car has been clocked by around 150,000 miles. I was stunned. Contacted Sterling Cars of Reading. They investigated and informed me that although they sold the car to me it didn't belong to them, I explained to them that I paid them they invoiced me and that was their problem not mine . After informing Trading Standards ( who are now investigating my complaint ) Sterling cars have offered to resell the car but will only give me back what I paid them, the car is now in a far better condition however due to its clocked mileage which they will need to declare it will be worth around £4k. I felt I should have been given a full refund and not my purchase price. They should seek their loses from the person they were selling it for surely that's not my problem. I'm happy they are being investigated but sad I now have to take them to court to fight for my costs.
