• Avoid at all costs. Taxi booked a week in advance for 7 people at midnight after a wedding.Taxi just never turned up for us, or another group who had also pre booked, leaving us stranded in a very rural location. Couldn't get any answer on the phone and just a text message an hour and a half after we were supposed to be collected saying our booking was cancelled - only 10 mins after we had found alternative travel arrangements. 1.20am with a child in the group is not a nice feeling when you don't know the area and have no way to get to where you are staying. Disgusting lack of disregard for their customers. Save yourself the stress and book with Calne taxis instead!

• V cars in Swindon is private hire. I couldn't afford to travel by taxi if it wasn't for the lower prices of private hire, rather than the more expensive hackney carriage with a meter. I love V cars in Swindon. My problem is that if you order from the Chippenham office it's more expensive. The V cars web site says Chippenham office is part of the same company as Swindon, so I booked from the Chippenham office thinking it's also private hire, but it was on the hackney carriage meter and cost a fortune.
