• It's my local - I can walk there in two minutes so that's a major plus. Food's good home-cooked stuff and very welcome after a long day at work and the drive home. Not a huge menu but reliable favourites. The sirloin with stilton and mushroom sauce is my partner's favourite, but for me both Steak Night and Fish'n'Chip nights are good value. Very friendly staff, decent garden in the summer and a good range of ales. perhaps if more village pubs were this good a few more might still be in business.

• Our first experience of a traditional Burns Night celebration and the Waggon & Horses did not let us down. Excellent food and friendly atmosphere all made for a fun night. Would book again :)

• Spur of the moment decision to eat out. Were pleasantly surprised at the the warm welcome and generally good ambience. Fire burning and a nice buzz. We all went fir the twice cooked lamb breast which was excellent. We'll be back.

• Went for a meal booked for 4 and found the staff very friendly and accommodating. we had a very nice meal and made welcome. meals were not to big and you did not feel stuffed, they were just right. Thank-you.
