• I tried to avail myself of a free coffee but the machine had run out of coffee grounds. No member of staff seemed to be near so the statement on the bill that I had received a free coffee was incorrect.

• the Staff in the Waitrose are very slow and untrained. Also- the cakes and sandwiches served there are stale and unappetising with virtually no choice. Behind a thin wall is the cake counter FULL of delicious cakes but one is not allowed to eat them in the Cafe! Ridiculous. This lets down the whole store, which is otherwise very pleasant and efficient.

• Very disappointed with the poor service at the click and collect counter this am at waitrose Colchester. The staff member, Sharon, was chewing gum, and very unenthusiastically served me. Another staff member wearing a jacket so probably more senior was equally abrupt and disinterested. Both myself and the customer behind me could not believe their attitude! I get a far better service at morrisons in dovercourt!

• Very disappointed with the apparently disinterested/untrained staff in the cafe. As far as the other checkout points are concerned, I don't bother but use the self-click instead. Although that too is no without its problems when trying to get it to accept my Visa debit card when wanting to pay - I have noticed others encountering similar problems.

• I have just awarded Waitrose the award for the slowest moving check out queues in Colchester. If I want to go to Waitrose again I'll shop on line!

• Products great, staff friendly, but very, very slow service. The cafe is especially appalling in this respect. Employ more people or devise better systems. At the moment it's like the bad old days of the 70s.

• The problem is that many of the staff seem to be poorly trained or completely untrained. It's a pity, given that the quality of the goods is excellent and the atmosphere is relaxed.
