• Called in on the 17-10-2013 with my partner and 2 children aged 6 and 4. the time was approx 7.15pm. ordered food about 7. 25pm. got to 8.10pm no food served. queried this at the bar and got an apology blaming new chef/ kitchen staff and that i would be served next. another 10mins passed and still no food, apology from waitress offering free desserts as turn around should be 15 mins maximum. very kind but declined as my daughters should now be at home getting ready for bed. waited another 5 mins which was now almost 8.30pm an hour since ordering and the waitress returned to tell us one of my daughters dishes was not available!!!! They only knew and hour after i placed the order????? i told them to forget the food as my children need to be home and up for school. offered a refund on the food order only and not the drinks, i find this very insulting a total of 25 pound spent and refunded only 20 pound. i'm sure they should be able to gauge how busy they are and give people the option of waiting or going else where. instead i left with 2 tired and hungry daughters and 5 pound worse off. the Washington arms is definitely one place i won't be going back to in the future. others thinking of dining there should be weary and ask what the real wait time is going to be before parting with any money. terrible service in times when good service is paramount to stay in business.
