  • 4 star reviewHad the Sunday Lunch at it was lovely!! Excellent value for money!! Would recommend this and the curry night!! Have since had a meal in the evening and it was average!! Had the Cauliflower cheese and the sauce was watery and no cheese taste!! Its a bit boil in the bag meals i am afraid but would def recommend Thurs nights and Sun Lunches and the pub overall for drinking in!

  • 5 star reviewAgree with last 2 reviewers.. Now doing food every day, and a nice welcome. Not fancy but real, and a good cellar.

  • 5 star reviewLovely pub, i have been a few times for the curry night. It has now been taken over by new management and serves food everyday with very good deals (2 meals for £10 and two steak dinners for £12.95 i believe) Also carvery on sundays which i will be popping down for on sunday. Certainly beats the other local pub The Rifle Volunteer which is very highly priced!

  • 5 star reviewI'm not sure whether the previous reviewer was just having a bad day but I couldn't disagree more with their verdict. Yes, the car park is on a difficult slope but there is really very little that can be done to remedy this given the lie of the land. The pub does not claim to be a restaurant. The only night they do food is on a Thursday night when they do a curry night (franchised to an outside cook) which is very popular. The owners are dog owners but these animals are not allowed in the public bar. The public are allowed to bring animals into the bar but it is a country pub and it would be daft of them to alienate the local clientele by banning dog owners. I have been frequenting this pub during the entire 12 year tenure of the current owners and on the rare occasion the beer has been "off" the staff have immediately apologised and offered a replacement or a refund if need be. All in all I think this reviewer has been exceedingly unfair to a pub that has a friendly landlord and lady who try to cultivate a friendly village pub atmosphere in very difficult times to be in the trade. Being the sole public house serving Chilsworthy, Latchley & Cox Park they perform a very difficult balancing act in managing to cater for the whole community young and old alike. Nothing is too much trouble and I would suggest that maybe the previous reviewer should give the White Hart one more chance. Although I would recommend a taxi as it seems that driving up a slope is one step too far.

  • 1 star reviewThis could be a lovely pub, with its great veiws, but the carpark was dificult to park in because it was on a nasty slop, getting food is unrealiable, sometimes they do serve other days they do not, and when they do its not good, there are much nicer places to eat locally. It also seemed to be full of unwelcoming locals who would rather outsiders were not there. The smell of wet dog was overwelming and there were animals roaming all over the pub. The service was very slow and poor and the ale tasted off. The only people i would recomend this pub to is enviromental health. Will not be going again unless it was taken over by new management.
