  • 1 star reviewWorst management you can imagine!!! We went out for a family meal for Saturday Night 7 people (4 adults 3 children) and everything went well with a very accommodating owner/manager and early doors ordered the meal for 8.00pm. It is worth noting that at no point did the owner state we were out too late with kids at booking for 8.00pm.......but more about that later!!! We all sat down and had a very nice meal to be fair, and then 4 other lads that were there on another table and some locals started having argy bargy and demanding a scrap outside..... It all went up "verbal slating" the kids on our table were scared to bits and crying there eyes out, the wives and other clients all agreed and said this was disgusting and the management sat there in the background like lost sheep doing precisely less than nowt!!!!! It calmed down slightly the main LOCAL protagonist (from what we could establish) was apologetic that we were there with kids aged 10,10,5, and we shouldn't have to put up with this swearing and lewd behaviour and he was very sorry for offending..... (despite him offering 5 guys outside for a scrap) Next the protagonist despite being polite his partner/wife steps in and starts berating us and saying and I quote "what kind of people do we think we are bringing kids out at this time?? - let me state it was 10.15pm in a family restaurant I may add at the weekend- no school next day" Well that was the last straw! I will not be preached to by a "prejudicial idiot" not only were we expected to pay the bill in full which we STILL had not at this point!, but the management despite a rub on the shoulder were expecting us to pay full price (which we did reluctantly) and be quite happy with the old Local dear stating that we were out far to late with our kids- what did we expect?? This was red rag to the bull! as I am not naieve and fully aware that after a few beers potential disagreements/fights can happen but the owners sat their like lost sheep in the background with every punter stating what could/was about to happen............. So on this basis this place is ran like a joke!!! With any NORMAL management they would have immediately chucked out the local and other half for at the VERY LEAST the night! on basis the end clients had a 100% RIGHT to be there enjoying a family meal and had at least half a chance of returning!!! At the very best chance as it stands on us returning, I would rather stick hot pins in my eyes followed by an acid bath, the management of the pub is non existent ran 100% by the locals with no authority............ If you want good food but every chance of being involved in a scuffle this is the place...... I rest my case a sad end to a good night until then, and sorry but this place deserves to lose its custom if it cant control a simple disagreement with its patrons!!!
