• this pub went down hill in recent times.But now it has changed hands.we visited it for a meal with my grand daughter on 2/8/12 and found the hosts to be friendly,and the staff also very attentive,the pint i had was of the highest quality and as for the food it was back to its old time best.If you have been put off in the past,give it another go you it is now back at its best.will be back many time to come.Well done to the new owners!

• The food is not very good in this pub. The menu is far to extensive and its obvious that the chef cannot cope with the variation on offer. I ordered braised steak and dumplings and they arrived 15 minutes later. Probably the worst braised steak I have ever had and the dumpling was rock hard. The accompanying mashed potato was lumpy and the other two veg was nothing to shout about. My wife thought her "home made" corned beef pie was OK though. Would definitely not go back for another meal.

• This is a poor pub. really let down by the standards of service and attitude of staff. new ownership, really gone down hill.
