• BE CAREFUL AND AWARE! TAKE A MECHANIC WITH YOU WHEN VIEWING THEIR CARS! The dealers now call themselves JRT Car sales, but when we paid for our car by card it said 'Avacar Motors' on the top of the receipt which we thought was strange at first but didn't think much of it. My husband and I recently bought a Ford Mondeo 04 plate off them for just under £3000 in 2014. This was our newest and most expensive car we've ever bought. As I am pregnant so the 8 airbag, half leather interior family car would be perfect for our new future family. They had a new MOT put on it before we drove it away, and the car had decent service history with a service stamp book, and the car looked very nice, and felt good to drive. We viewed the car, and had to come back the following day to collect it, as the dealers explained they needed to put it through its MOT. So we came back, paid, and drove the car home with a good piece of mind knowing it had a brand new MOT so there would be no safety faults. Got the car back home, and a friend of ours who is a mechanic pointed out that the tread on our front tyres were not of the legal limit! My husband and I were shocked by this and very disappointed. So realising the dealers had put a dodgy MOT on the car we thought what else could be wrong? Well we drove it to a local garage to be checked out and on the way there the car started jumping out of second gear. This made us extremely worried and upset. We'd just spent nearly £3000 on a car we thought was great and mechanically sound, and for that much we expected it to be at a satisfactory standard, but so far it was proving to be far from that! The mechanic explained it was something to do with the linkage and would cost between £180-£300 to fix. For 2 new front tyres we were quoted £55 each fitted, which we thought wasn't too bad considering the tyres are 18" and low profile. However we shouldn't be paying for this, these faults should HAVE been sorted for us by the dealer! This is just a warning to people to be aware of these guys because as far as we know they are not to be trusted!!
