• Awful. PLEASE avoid to make sure you don't go through the same thing that I and by the looks of it many other people are going through. Exact same problems except with a van, purchased it, all seemed fine and they could have done no better before the sale to win us over. After the sale there were three problems with the van, when sold they said "ANY problems in the first three months bring it back and we'll sort it". So a month in I have phoned more than ten times and have been up several occasions to be told in my last visit "we're not interested unless it blows up or breaks down". Disgusting aftersales, a friend recently got a car there for the clutch to completely break down within a week and yet again they are having to chase them up more than a dozen times to try and sort it with no luck. Avoid them. Don't be fooled by their sales techniques like I and many others unfortunately were.

• Absolute disgrace of a company. Sold me a dodgy car with multiple problems. 4 months later and still calling them daily to get the problems rectified, always the same 'the boss isn't here. Ill pass on a message'. No interest in offering quality, happy to take your money and then don't want to know. Worst example of customer service I have ever seen. Avoid like the plague.

• Friendly pre sales service, picked me up from local station and offered me a cup of tea. On initial inspection the vehicle seemed to be good. Shortly into ownership a number of problems arose - whining from differentials, axles, wheel bearings, etc. Got a friend to see what was happening only to discover that a driveshaft had been removed to hide a problem with the front axle making the car 2wd instead of 4wd. Metal shavings in the oil, etc. Complete mess. So far I've been lumped with having to replace two axles, a driveshaft and also address the cause of the issue (a broken transfer case) which is going to cost me in excess of £600 plus labour for 2nd hand parts. West car sales didn't want to know. Initially sympathetic but it became clear that they were trying to get out of helping me fix the problem or even admitting there was an issue to begin with. I really wish I had read a few of the reviews on this page. I'm not holding my breath for any sort of resolution and at the > end of the day I do have the use of another car so I'm not completely immobile. All I can do is hope that I can prevent someone else making the same mistake and relying on West Car Sales to provide an accurate description of a vehicle before shifting it on to some unsuspecting punter. My advice - the car could be fine but bring someone who knows a lot about cars, regular problems and how they could be hidden. Go over the car with a fine toothcomb and believe nothing anyone from this company tells you.
